Juicing is a great way to get all of your nutrients and goodness from your fruit and vegetables. It’s also a great way of encouraging young children to eat healthily. I involve my children in the chopping and juicing process and then they are more likely to eat the end product.

A good way to get kids to eat fruit is to make smoothie lollies. I usually make a banana and ice base with orange or apple juice and then add fresh summer berries in the summer and frozen raspberries or strawberries in the winter. I use the blender and pop the mixture in the lolly moulds. When the kids look for a treat I take one out of the freezer and they are getting something that’s good for them!

Think yourself thin – if you don’t think you are overweight you will give off the impression that you are thin. Notice how you want to eat less when you lose weight and feel better as the pounds fall off. The positive effect of getting fitter and slimmer creates more positive attitude.

When I want to put myself off eating I think of the thousands starving around the world and it works.
Junk might taste good but it isn’t actually food – as in feeding your body. Sugar based junk might give you a quick energy boost but it really is only temporary – you need to eat more live food and raw food to actually feed your body. A jelly or piece of chocolate is a dead food. Same goes for well done meat – eat it rare because when it’s well done all the nutrients are cooked out of it. Never ever over cook your vegetables!
