What Women Know About . . .Love
Many thanks to one of our Facebook friends for sharing this wonderful story with us. She wishes to remain anonymous but we think she must be very proud to be able to write this story.
A true love story...
Both of my grandparents were not in the best of health, my grandfather living in a hospices dying of cancer. My gran was also staying there waiting for a place in a nursing home. It was a few days before my granddads 80th birthday and he kept saying that he was not going to be around to celebrate it, he would be meeting with St. Peter then. They decided to throw a small surprise party for him and first got my gran made over. Her hair was done, make up put on and a new dress for the occasion. She was wheeled in to his room and granddad said "My God Chrissie, you are every bit as beautiful as the day we married. And I still love you as much." As you can imagine there wasn't a dry eye in the place. That night he passed away in his sleep. After 60 years of marriage, 21 children (5 sadly passed away as babies), I've no idea of how many grand-children or great grand children there were, that had to be the most wonderful thing to hear. My gran lived for another 18 months.
If you have any advice, tips, stories or affirmations that will help other women and you are happy for us to share them in our book please email us at michellejackson@eircom.net or write a comment below.
Thanks
